Ghana’s Black Princesses Qualify for Third Round of 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers

The Black Princesses of Ghana have booked their place in the third phase of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup African qualifiers after completing a dominant 4-0 aggregate victory over Tunisia.

After winning the first leg 2-0 away in Tunis, coach Charles Sampson made three changes to his starting lineup for the return leg at the Accra Sports Stadium. Precious Asante, Latifa Musah, and Theresah Darko were introduced to replace Zeinab Haruna, Sarah Nyarko, and Comfort Yeboah—who recently signed for Spanish La Liga Femenina side DUX Logroño.

The changes paid off as the Princesses maintained their winning momentum. Mercy Attobrah opened the scoring in the first half, before substitute Agnes Yeboah sealed the 2-0 win in the second half. With the result, Ghana completed a clean sweep against Tunisia with back-to-back victories.

The qualification sets up a highly anticipated clash against South Africa, who cruised past Eswatini with a 9-0 aggregate win. The two sides will face off in February 2026, with Ghana aiming to continue their impressive run as they push for a spot in the U-20 Women’s World Cup.
