President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Doha, Qatar, to participate in the highly anticipated Doha Forum 2025, following an invitation from the Emir of Qatar, H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The Ghanaian President touched down in Doha on Saturday morning aboard a Qatar Airways Executive Jet provided by the State of Qatar.
During the global conference, renowned for shaping international policy discourse, President Mahama is scheduled to make two major interventions. He will deliver opening remarks on the theme “Education as Justice in Times of Crisis”, highlighting the urgent need for equitable access to education amid global instability. He will later join a high-profile panel discussion on “Economic Empowerment in Africa: Pathway to Inclusive Prosperity”, where he is expected to outline transformational strategies for unlocking Africa’s economic potential.
As part of his official engagements, President Mahama will also hold bilateral talks with the Emir of Qatar to deepen cooperation between Ghana and Qatar in areas of mutual interest.
The Doha Forum, established in 2003, serves as one of the world’s leading platforms for high-level dialogue. Operating under the theme “Diplomacy, Dialogue, Diversity,” the Forum convenes global leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss interconnected global challenges and propose actionable solutions. It continues to champion policy innovation and collaborative approaches in an era defined by porous borders and shared global risks.
President Mahama is expected to depart Doha on Sunday after fulfilling his engagements at the Forum.
