In a significant move to foster institutional synergy, Chief Justice Paul Kwadwo Baffoe-Bonnie led a distinguished delegation to the Ministry of Education to explore and strengthen collaboration between the Judiciary and the education sector.
The high-level visit, which took place earlier this week, underscores the Judiciary’s commitment to supporting educational development and legal literacy across Ghana. The Chief Justice was accompanied by Attorney General Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, Supreme Court Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang, and constitutional law expert Dr. Raymond A. Atuguba.
During the meeting, discussions centered on integrating civic and legal education into school curricula, enhancing access to justice through educational outreach, and building institutional frameworks that promote rule of law awareness among students and educators.
Chief Justice Baffoe-Bonnie emphasized the Judiciary’s readiness to collaborate on initiatives that empower young Ghanaians with knowledge of their rights and responsibilities. “A legally literate society is the foundation of a strong democracy,” he noted.
The Minister of Education Hon. Haruna Iddrisu welcomed the initiative, highlighting the Ministry’s openness to partnerships that enrich the educational experience and prepare students to be informed, responsible citizens.
This visit marks a pivotal step in aligning judicial and educational priorities, with both institutions pledging to form a joint working group to develop actionable programs in the coming months.
