The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving access to higher education by providing financial assistance to 248 brilliant but needy students in the constituency through his Member of Parliament’s Common Fund allocation.
The educational support initiative is aimed at easing the financial burden on students pursuing tertiary education while promoting academic excellence and equal access to educational opportunities within the constituency.
According to details of the initiative, the 248 beneficiaries comprise:
- 161 female students
- 87 male students
The distribution highlights a significant focus on supporting female education, reflecting ongoing efforts to encourage greater participation of women in tertiary education.
Breakdown of Financial Support
The beneficiaries have been grouped according to the institutions they attend, with varying support packages designed to meet their educational needs.
Under the scheme:
- 82 students enrolled in Colleges of Education and Nursing/Midwifery Training Colleges will each receive GH¢1,000.
- 166 students studying in Universities, Technical Universities, and other tertiary institutions will each receive GH¢1,500.
The financial assistance is expected to help students offset tuition fees, accommodation costs, learning materials, transportation, and other educational expenses.
