Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson Rallies Circle Tax Centre to Achieve Ghana’s Revenue Goals

Earlier today, the Minister for Finance, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, paid a working visit to the Circle Tax Service Centre in Accra as part of his ongoing nationwide engagement with frontline revenue officers. The visit aimed to inspire, assess progress, and reinforce the government’s commitment to achieving its national revenue targets.

Addressing the staff, Dr. Forson emphasized that Ghana’s revenue goals are not only realistic but well within reach. “Our national targets are conservative and absolutely achievable,” he stated. “What we need now is commitment, discipline, and integrity in the way we mobilise revenue.”

He outlined a clear roadmap for success, calling for:

A reduction in external interference in tax administration
Strengthened compliance mechanisms across all levels
Accelerated adoption of electronic tools to seal revenue loopholes and boost operational efficiency

Dr. Forson reiterated his unwavering support for hardworking officers who deliver results, while also issuing a firm warning to those whose actions or inactions hinder progress. “I am determined to reward those who work hard and deliver results — and equally determined to hold accountable anyone whose actions or inactions undermine the growth of the tax offices or our national revenue efforts,” he declared.

The Minister’s visit underscores the government’s broader strategy to modernize revenue collection, enhance transparency, and build a resilient economy. With the right systems and a renewed sense of purpose, Ghana is poised to meet and exceed its fiscal objectives.

“Ghana cannot afford anything less,” Dr. Forson concluded.
