Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority (CSA), in collaboration with National Security operatives, has arrested 32 Nigerian nationals in a targeted early morning operation at Kasoa–Tuba as part of intensified efforts to combat cybercrime.
The coordinated raid resulted in the seizure of 31 laptops and 15 mobile phones, all suspected to have been used in cyber-related criminal activities. The operation marks a significant step in the Authority’s ongoing campaign to disrupt organized cybercrime networks operating within Ghana.
Suspects in Custody, Devices Under Forensic Analysis
According to the CSA, the suspects are currently in custody and are cooperating with investigators. The seized electronic devices have been forwarded for detailed forensic examination, which is expected to provide critical evidence to support ongoing investigations and possible prosecutions.
Security officials say the intelligence-led operation was carefully planned to minimize disruption while effectively targeting suspected cybercriminal activity in the Kasoa–Tuba area.
Part of a Broader National Cybercrime Strategy
The CSA noted that the arrests form part of a sustained nationwide effort to protect Ghana’s digital ecosystem from cyber-enabled crimes, including online fraud, identity theft, and financial scams.
The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with National Security and other law enforcement agencies to strengthen cyber resilience and ensure that individuals involved in cybercrime are brought to justice.
Public Urged to Report Suspicious Cyber Activities
In a statement following the operation, the CSA called on members of the public to remain vigilant and actively report suspicious cyber-related activities through approved reporting channels. The Authority emphasized that public cooperation is essential in identifying threats early and safeguarding Ghana’s rapidly growing digital space.
As Ghana continues to expand its digital infrastructure, authorities say proactive enforcement and public awareness will remain central to the fight against cybercrime across the country.
