The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has officially extended the 2025 nationwide recruitment deadline by one week, giving applicants an extra opportunity to submit their applications following technical challenges on the online recruitment portal.

Originally scheduled to close on October 31, 2025, the deadline has now been moved to November 7, 2025, according to a press release issued on October 31 from the Department of Public Relations, General Headquarters, Burma Camp.

Reason for the Extension

The GAF explained that the extension became necessary due to “technical challenges encountered on the recruitment portal during the initial phase.”
Colonel Evelyn Ntiamoah Asamoah, Acting Director General of Public Relations, signed the statement, assuring the public that the move is to ensure that all qualified Ghanaians have a fair opportunity to apply for positions in the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

“The Ghana Armed Forces has extended the deadline for the ongoing recruitment exercise by one week due to some technical challenges encountered on the recruitment portal during the initial period,” the statement read.

The GAF apologized for the inconvenience caused and appealed for public patience as the online application system stabilizes.

Recruitment Details and Eligibility

The ongoing 2025 GAF recruitment exercise, which started on October 1, forms part of the government’s plan to strengthen Ghana’s defence capacity by recruiting 12,000 new officers and personnel across the Army, Navy, and Air Force over the next three years.

Interested applicants are required to:

  • Purchase an e-voucher worth GH¢200 from any Ghana Post Office nationwide.
  • Apply online only through the official recruitment portal: apply.mil.gh.
  • Be Ghanaian citizens by birth, of good character, and aged 18 to 25 years (up to 27 years for tradesmen).
  • Attend verification centers set up in all 16 regional capitals.

GAF Issues Strong Fraud Warning

In a stern caution to the public, the GAF and the Deputy Minister of Defence, Mr. Brogya Genfi, warned that recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces is not for sale and is strictly based on merit.

The Cyber Security Authority recently uncovered 86 fake social media accounts impersonating the GAF in a single week. These fraudulent pages, mostly on Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram, attempt to deceive applicants with false promises of recruitment assistance.

The GAF emphasized that official recruitment information is only available in the state-owned Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times newspapers, as well as on the official GAF website.

“Applicants are advised to ignore fake recruitment links and report suspicious accounts to the nearest police station or the Cyber Security Authority,” the statement added.
