Jim Iyke Denies “Walk-Out” at Ghana Movie Awards, Cites Prior Engagement

Popular Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has vehemently denied claims that he stormed out of the 2024 Ghana Movie Awards.

The seasoned actor addressed allegations made by Ghanaian personality Akuapem Poloo, who, in a January 24, 2025, interview with Zionfelix, suggested Iyke had angrily exited the event midway.

Speaking on Okay FM on July 28, 2025, Jim Iyke dismissed Poloo’s assertions, clarifying that his departure was not due to anger but rather a commitment to an equally important, pre-scheduled engagement.

She can’t be in a good state to talk about my schedule. I was multitasking,” Jim Iyke explained. He detailed his arrangements, stating, “If Akuapem Poloo had even bothered to come outside before forming an opinion, she would have seen three cars pull up for me.”

He elaborated that these cars were sent by “Sulemana” for an evening meeting. “Fred [presumably Fred Nuamah, organizer of the Ghana Movie Awards] is also a great friend of mine, so I said I was going to attend his event and grace the occasion. And after an hour or two, when people from my meeting arrived, I would leave with them,” he clarified.

Jim Iyke concluded by advising Akuapem Poloo to verify her facts before making public statements about him. “Maybe for context, next time Akuapem Poloo should know and understand the full spectrum before she can comment,” he added.

This clarification from Jim Iyke aims to set the record straight regarding his conduct at the Ghana Movie Awards, emphasizing professional commitments over any supposed controversy.
