Ghana’s Parliament has officially passed the University of Engineering and Agricultural Sciences Bill, 2025, marking a major milestone in the country’s efforts to expand specialised higher education and strengthen innovation-driven development.
The newly approved legislation establishes a legal framework for the governance, management, and operations of the proposed public university, which is expected to focus on engineering and agricultural sciences, two sectors critical to Ghana’s economic transformation.

Under the provisions of the bill, the university will operate a multi-campus system, with its main campus located at Bunsu in the Eastern Region, and additional campuses planned for Kenyasi and Acherensua.
