Team of Hope Ghana has successfully concluded its 2025 free surgical outreach, delivering life-changing medical care to hundreds of people in Buluk in the Upper East Region. The annual mission ran from November 17 to 21, 2025, operating concurrently at the Sandema District Hospital and the Fumbisi District Hospital.
According to the mission summary, a total of 231 surgical procedures were completed across both facilities. Sandema accounted for 142 surgeries, while Fumbisi recorded 89 surgeries.
Wide Range of Medical Conditions Treated
The free surgeries addressed a broad spectrum of health conditions, many of which patients would not have been able to treat without financial support. The procedures included:
- Hernias
- Hydroceles
- Goiters
- Fibroids
- Breast lumps
- Ovarian tumors
- Other general and gynecological cases
Highly Skilled Medical Team
The outreach was delivered by a 13-member medical and volunteer team working alongside health workers in both hospitals. The mission was jointly led by:
- Dr. (Med) Alhassan Jaabir
- Dr. (Med) Benjamin Akinkang, CEO of Team of Hope Ghana
Their leadership ensured smooth coordination, safe procedures, and efficient service delivery throughout the outreach.

Life-Changing Impact
The mission brought relief to over 200 beneficiaries who received critical surgical care at no cost. According to the report, many patients “left the hospitals smiling and relieved, with renewed hope for a healthier future.”

Team of Hope Ghana will continue its work with another free surgical mission scheduled for December 15 to 19, 2025. Surgeries will take place concurrently at:
