Police Recruitment Screening Begins January 12 as Interior Ministry Releases CSERP Schedule

The Ghana Police Service will begin screening shortlisted applicants from Monday, January 12, 2026, the Ministry of the Interior has announced, as part of Phase II of the Centralised Services E-Recruitment Portal (CSERP) exercise for the 2025 and 2026 intake.

According to the Ministry, the documentation and body inspection exercise will run from January 12 to February 4, 2026, but at this stage, only applicants seeking to join the Ghana Police Service have been scheduled.

Applicants to the Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service and Ghana Immigration Service will receive their screening schedules after January 15, 2026, when the CSERP portal is expected to be updated.

Screening Details and Requirements

The Ministry said applicants will be notified of their screening date, time and centre via text message. Candidates are also advised to log onto the CSERP portal to confirm their details and assigned locations.

Shortlisted applicants are required to report to their centres with original documents and photocopies, including:

  • Application summary report
  • Biometric birth certificate
  • Ghana Card
  • Senior High School certificate
  • Two passport-sized photographs
  • Other relevant educational certificates

The Ministry cautioned that failure to report at the stated date and time may lead to disqualification.

Reporting Times

Candidates scheduled for the morning session are expected to report by 7:00 a.m., while those assigned to the noon session must report by 12:00 p.m.

The Ministry also reminded applicants to adhere strictly to the instructions provided to ensure a smooth and orderly screening process.

Background

The CSERP recruitment portal opened on November 17, 2025, and closed on December 19, 2025, attracting thousands of applicants seeking to join Ghana’s security services.

The Interior Ministry said further updates regarding the Prisons, Fire and Immigration services will be communicated after January 15, 2026, urging applicants to remain vigilant and rely only on official channels for information.

The ongoing recruitment exercise forms part of government efforts to strengthen the country’s security institutions through a transparent and centralised recruitment process.
