This announcement marks a crucial step in preparing for the looming by-election in the area, necessitated by a parliamentary vacancy.

Promoting Inclusivity: Reduced Filing Fees for Women and PWDs
In a significant move demonstrating its commitment to gender equity and inclusivity, the NDC has announced a 50% reduction in filing fees for female aspirants and persons living with disabilities (PWDs).
This progressive policy underscores the party’s broader efforts to empower marginalized groups and foster greater representation within Ghana’s political landscape.
Nomination Procedures and Financial Transparency
Prospective candidates are directed to collect and submit their nomination forms exclusively at the NDC’s Eastern Regional Office. To ensure transparency and prevent unofficial transactions, the party explicitly stated:
“No cheques or bankers’ drafts will be accepted. All payments must be made directly into the NDC’s official account at UMB Bank, Adabraka Branch.”
Access to the crucial delegates’ list will only be granted to candidates upon the successful payment of the approved filing fee.
Upholding Party Values: A Call for Decency and Discipline
The NDC leadership has issued a strong call to all aspirants and their supporters, urging them to uphold the core principles of decency, fairness, and discipline throughout the entire primary election process.
“The party expects all aspirants to operate in the spirit of decency and fairness, upholding the democratic values of the NDC,” the statement affirmed, emphasizing the importance of a clean and respectful contest.
