Ivan Quashigah Appointed Chairman of the National Film Authority Board

Renowned Ghanaian filmmaker Ivan Quashigah has been appointed as the new Chairman of the National Film Authority (NFA) Board.

This strategic appointment, made by the President, is expected to bring decades of industry experience and leadership to the body responsible for regulating, promoting, and supporting Ghana’s vibrant film sector.

Leadership and Vision for Ghana’s Film Industry

The inauguration of the new board took place on Monday, August 4, 2025. Under the Development and Classification of Film Act (Act 935), the NFA is tasked with classifying films, regulating the industry, and advocating for filmmakers.

As the new Chairman, Ivan Quashigah will work alongside the Executive Secretary to elevate industry standards, champion authentic Ghanaian storytelling, and enhance the country’s global film presence.

Quashigah, the founder and CEO of Farmhouse Productions, is a highly respected figure in Ghana’s creative space. He is best known for his groundbreaking work on popular television series like “Things We Do for Love” and the award-winning “Yolo (You Only Live Once).” His impressive career has earned him over 18 international and local awards, including a notable recognition for Best Short Feature at FESPACO.
