Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh presents Anaesthetic Machines to UGMC and Korle-Bu

In a significant move to enhance healthcare delivery across Ghana, the Minister for Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has presented anaesthetic machines to two of the country’s leading medical institutions — the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) and Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

The donation forms part of a broader government initiative to distribute 50 anaesthetic machines nationwide, aimed at retooling health facilities and improving patient care. UGMC received three machines, while Korle-Bu was allocated eight.

During the presentation, Akandoh emphasized the importance of equipping hospitals with modern medical technology to ensure that every Ghanaian has access to quality healthcare. He directed that the machines be installed immediately and urged health professionals to treat patients with dignity and compassion⁽¹⁾.

This development marks a proactive step in strengthening Ghana’s healthcare infrastructure and reflects the government’s commitment to improving medical services across the country.
