On December 29, 2025, the AWON-Ate Foundation conducted a free health screening in Kanjarga, located in the Builsa South District of Ghana. This vital outreach program brought essential healthcare services to 105 residents, many of whom have limited access to regular medical care.
The screening event offered a wide range of services, including:
Eye screening
Hepatitis B & C testing
Random Blood Sugar (RBS) checks
Blood Pressure monitoring
HIV testing
General medical consultation
Health education and awareness
These services were provided by a dedicated team of healthcare professionals and volunteers committed to improving community health outcomes.
Key Health Findings
The screening revealed various eye conditions which were referred for further management. Client who also tested reactive to Hep B and C were referred to the Fumbisi health centre for further assessment and management. The screening revealed a lot of health problems in the community. The foundation is therefore appealing for support to cover more communities in the district. Early detection good prognosis.
This initiative is part of AWON-Ate Foundation’s ongoing mission to promote preventive healthcare and early detection in underserved communities. By identifying health issues early, the Foundation helps reduce long-term health risks and supports healthier, more resilient communities.
Founded in 2020 by Martin Anab, a native of Kanjarga, AWON-Ate Foundation continues to serve as a beacon of hope for rural populations in Ghana. Through regular health screenings, educational support, and community outreach, the Foundation is bridging the gap in access to essential services.
