Popular Ghanaian cleric, Prophet ElBernard, has announced an intentional break from making public prophetic declarations on national and political matters following the defeat of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer race.
The prophet, who had earlier prophesied a victory for Ken Agyapong in the party’s presidential primaries held on Saturday, made the announcement in a detailed statement posted on his official Facebook page.
According to Prophet ElBernard, the decision comes in the spirit of humility, accountability, and responsibility, after he issued a public apology concerning the prophetic declarations he made ahead of the NPP primaries.
“Following my recent public apology concerning the prophetic declarations I made about the New Patriotic Party presidential primaries, I have, in humility and accountability, chosen to take a short and intentional pause from making public prophetic declarations, particularly those related to national and political matters,” he stated.
Beyond stepping back from political prophecies, Prophet ElBernard also revealed that he is temporarily withdrawing from public teaching, preaching, and pulpit ministry.
He described the move as a deliberate and voluntary step aimed at deep reflection, prayer, seeking counsel, and strengthening accountability in how prophetic revelations are received, interpreted, and communicated.
Despite the pause, the prophet emphasized that he is not abandoning his calling or ministry entirely. He noted that he remains committed to personal prayer, study, and quiet pastoral responsibilities during this season of realignment.
“I am not stepping away from my calling or from ministry altogether. I remain committed to personal prayer, study, and quiet pastoral responsibility, while intentionally realigning myself in growth, integrity, and discernment,” he added.
Prophet ElBernard also expressed appreciation to the public and his followers for their continued trust, prayers, and understanding, stressing that he does not take the confidence placed in him lightly.
The announcement has since sparked conversations across social media, particularly around the role of prophetic declarations in Ghana’s political space and the accountability of religious leaders when prophecies intersect with national affairs.
