Dr. Bawumia Promises ‘Future of Innovation’ as He Woos Voters in Ketu South

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has assured Ghanaians of a future anchored on innovation, technology, and expanded opportunities should he be elected President in the upcoming national polls.

Addressing enthusiastic supporters in Ketu South on November 15, the former Vice President urged citizens to put their confidence in his leadership, stressing that his track record demonstrates his ability to deliver transformational change.

Have confidence in me. You have seen what I can do as Vice President. If you make me President… I will bring ‘Abrokyire’ to Ghana here,” Dr. Bawumia declared, suggesting that his administration would deliver global standards of development locally.

Focus on Innovation Over Current Economic Challenges

Dr. Bawumia encouraged Ghanaians not to dwell solely on present economic hardships but to evaluate the transformative ideas he brings to national development.

It is not the money in your pocket that will allow you to transform Ghana. It is the ideas in your head,” he said, emphasizing that innovative governance, not short-term relief, is key to long-term national progress.

Highlights Achievements in Digital and Financial Reforms

The NPP presidential hopeful outlined several digital and financial reforms he spearheaded while in office, highlighting them as evidence of his capacity to lead Ghana through the next phase of national transformation.

He cited the successful interoperability of mobile money platforms, which now allows seamless transactions across networks and banks.

If you had MTN, you couldn’t move money to someone with Vodafone or Airtel. You couldn’t move money from your bank account to your MoMo account. But I said it was possible… and we have done it,” he told the crowd.

MoMo Sector Expansion Has Created 800,000 Jobs — Bawumia

Dr. Bawumia also pointed to the rapid expansion of Ghana’s mobile money sector as one of the biggest contributors to employment growth under his tenure as Vice President.

When we came, MoMo agents were 107,000. Today, they are 900,000. We have created 800,000 jobs,” he stated, noting that digital finance continues to serve as a critical economic lifeline for many Ghanaian youth.

The Ketu South engagement is part of Dr. Bawumia’s broader nationwide campaign to secure the NPP flagbearership and present his vision for a digitally driven, opportunity-rich Ghana.
