The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has launched a full investigation into the circumstances that led to the fatal accident. Officials say the findings will inform measures to prevent similar incidents and strengthen safety protocols for anti-galamsey taskforces nationwide.
The anti-illegal mining campaign continues to be a priority for the government, with frontline personnel often exposed to high-risk terrain and operational hazards.
