In a strong demonstration of commitment to youth development and sports excellence, Fumbisi Senior High School has received a valuable donation of sports equipment from Mr. Daniel Adams Achaab, the Upper East Regional Free SHS Coordinator and NDC Builsa South Constituency Secretary hopeful
The donation included 2 footballs, 2 volleyballs, and 4 handballs, aimed at strengthening the school’s sports programs, particularly as they prepare for upcoming competitions in the Western Zone.
Mr. Achaab revealed that his support for the school spans over a decade, driven by passion and encouragement from staff.
“For over 10 years now, we have been supporting sports and the school. The encouragement from some staff keeps us going,” he said.
He emphasized the importance of sacrifice in nurturing young talent.
“People sacrifice to support this because of the growth of the young ones. The little we can do is to appreciate and help them.”
He assured the school that more support is on the way.
“This is just the beginning. There are bigger things coming, and we are always willing to support,” he stated, referencing a prior conversation with the PTA Chairman.
He also stressed the importance of unity within the school.
Mr. Achaab encouraged students to embrace respect as a pathway to growth.
“Peace and discipline are key. If there is peace, we will enjoy tournaments and sports. Without discipline, support becomes difficult.”
“Respect is how we grow. If future leaders respect those guiding them, they can build the school into what they want.”
In a light but meaningful moment, he praised the girls’ volleyball team for their outstanding performance in recent Zonal and Super Zonal competitions.
He added a challenge to the boys — to step up and earn equal support through performance.
He jokingly noted that he almost gave all the volleyballs to the girls due to their commitment, but the PE master insisted on fairness.

Speaking on behalf of the school, Assistant Headmaster (Administration), Mr. Akanba Baba Akanzang, expressed appreciation for the gesture and also urged students to focus on success instead of causing problems in school.

“We thank him for this donation. He is someone who always honors his promises,” he said. I want to also use this platform to urge you students not to chase your teachers away but rather use that energy to chase victories and achievement.” he added.
The Physical Education Teacher, Mr. Prosper Awentiirim Adii, adding his voice at the ceremony held on the school premises, confirmed that this is the third donation from Mr. Achaab.
He dedicated the school’s recent success as Western Zone champions to Mr. Achaab and expressed optimism for the future.
“At the Super Zonal level, we were at the tail end in the region. This time, we are not aiming for third place — we are going for first position.”
This donation goes beyond equipment as it represents belief, encouragement, and a call to excellence. With continued support and dedication, Fumbisi Senior High/agric is set to grow into a dominant force in both academics and sports in the Upper East Region.
