In a major boost to digital empowerment, Ghana’s Minister of Communications, Hon. Sam George, has announced a groundbreaking initiative to provide Ghanaian students with free access to cutting-edge AI tools and training.
Through a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Communications (@mocghana) and Google, students in Ghana can now sign up to use the Gemini AI App (@GeminiApp) for free for 12 months. The offer includes 2TB of cloud storage and complimentary AI Certification training — all available until December 9, 2025.
“This is yet another step to empower our citizens and save money for Ghanaian students and their parents,” Hon. George stated via his official X account.
The initiative builds on Ghana’s broader digital transformation agenda, which includes the AI Research Lab and the One Million Coders Programme. It reflects the government’s commitment to equipping the next generation of leaders and problem solvers with world-class technology.
