The La State Council, in partnership with several municipal assemblies, has announced a temporary ban on noise-making in preparation for the 2025 La Homowo Festival.
This measure is a key part of the annual traditions, ensuring a quiet and respectful atmosphere for the celebrations.
Key Details of the Noise Ban
The ban is effective from Monday, August 11, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., and will last until Friday, September 5, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. This year’s festival theme is “Respect For All: The Foundation for a Stronger Society.”
The restriction applies to a wide range of areas, including:
- La Township, Kaajiano, Ako Adiei, Nyaniba Estates, Labone, Cantonments, Flagstaff House Area, 37 Military Hospital Area, Tse-Addo, Burma Camp, Legon, Shiashi, Bawaleshi, Okponglo, Mpenhuasem, Ogbojo, Ashale Botwe, Agbogba, Madina-Nkwantanan-Atiman, Adentan, Oyarifa, Teiman, Ayi Mensah, Frafraha, Amanfro, Ashye, Amrahia, and Maale J)).
All residents, religious institutions (churches and mosques), businesses (hotels and eateries), and social establishments in these zones are expected to follow the directive. The council has made it clear that traditional sanctions will be enforced for any violations.
