The National Service Authority (NSA) has released 121,754 PIN codes for eligible graduates for the 2026/2027 national service year, paving the way for the commencement of the registration and enrolment process.
The release was announced on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, with prospective National Service Personnel expected to complete their online registration between August 12 and August 26, 2026.
The exercise is targeted at eligible Ghanaian graduates from accredited tertiary institutions who are required to undertake national service.
According to the NSA, tertiary institutions submitted 144,023 prospective National Service Personnel for consideration for the 2026/2027 service year.
Following a validation and verification exercise, 122,712 applicants were approved, while 21,311 submissions were rejected pending further identity verification.
The validation process resulted in the creation of 121,754 unique records, for which PIN codes have been generated.
The Authority indicated that 958 approved applicants were not promoted because their records are still undergoing additional verification.
The NSA said the verification process was conducted in collaboration with relevant regulatory institutions to detect irregularities, duplicate submissions and other discrepancies before the mobilisation of graduates.
NSA registration deadline
The 2026/2027 National Service registration officially opened on August 12, 2026, and will close on August 26, 2026.
Prospective personnel are encouraged to complete the registration process before the deadline to avoid difficulties or delays associated with last-minute submissions.
Applicants must activate their PIN codes and complete the required online registration and biometric verification procedures.
How to register for national service 2026/2027
Prospective National Service Personnel can complete their registration by following the required steps on the NSA’s online platform.
Applicants are expected to:
- Visit the official NSA registration portal.
- Retrieve and activate their National Service PIN code.
- Pay the prescribed registration fee using Mobile Money.
- Complete the online registration form.
- Provide the required personal and educational information.
- Complete the biometric verification process.
- Provide a verified GhanaPost GPS address.
- Review all information provided before submitting the registration.
Applicants should ensure that all information submitted during registration is accurate and corresponds with their official records.
New biometric verification process
The NSA has introduced enhanced identity verification measures as part of the 2026/2027 registration exercise.
Prospective personnel will be required to complete facial biometric verification, with their biometric information matched against records held by the National Identification Authority (NIA).
The registration system will also require applicants to provide a verified GhanaPost GPS address.
According to the NSA, the enhanced verification measures are intended to improve the accuracy of the mobilisation process, prevent fraudulent registrations and support more effective deployment.
Military orientation option introduced
Applicants will also have an opportunity to express interest in participating in the government’s Basic Military Training/Orientation Programme during registration.
Selected National Service Personnel may participate in the military orientation programme before being deployed to their respective user agencies.
The initiative forms part of measures aimed at strengthening discipline, national service and civic responsibility among young graduates.
Agriculture deployment programme
The NSA will also continue its Agriculture Deployment Programme, which seeks to encourage young graduates to participate in agriculture and contribute to Ghana’s food security and agribusiness development.
Graduates interested in the programme will be able to indicate their preference during the registration process.
The programme is expected to provide opportunities for young professionals to contribute their skills to Ghana’s agricultural sector while gaining practical experience.
Accreditation issues may affect mobilisation
The NSA has also cautioned tertiary institutions with unresolved accreditation issues to engage the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to regularise their accreditation status.
Graduates from institutions whose accreditation status remains unresolved could face delays in mobilisation until the necessary confirmation is received.
The Authority has therefore urged institutions and prospective personnel to ensure that all relevant records are properly verified before the registration process is completed.
Who is eligible for national service?
Under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), national service is applicable to Ghanaian citizens who have completed a course of study at a tertiary education institution.
Eligible graduates are therefore encouraged to activate their PIN codes and complete their registration within the stipulated period.
With the registration deadline set for August 26, 2026, prospective National Service Personnel are advised to begin the process early rather than wait until the final days.
The release of the 121,754 PIN codes marks an important step towards the deployment of the next cohort of National Service Personnel across Ghana.
