The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the provisional results for the 2025 WASSCE for School Candidates (Ghana Only Version). Heads of schools will receive login details to access their candidates’ results, while candidates can check theirs online via the Council’s website.

WAEC has, however, issued a strong warning to candidates and stakeholders to remain vigilant against fraudsters who promise to upgrade results for a fee. The Council emphasized that WASSCE results are secured and can be verified through its official results authentication system.

A total of 461,736 candidates from 1,021 schools registered for the 2025 examination, comprising 207,415 males and 254,321 females. This reflects a slight increase of 0.24% compared to the 2024 entry figure of 460,611.

Approximately 5,821 candidates (1.26%) were absent from the exams.

WAEC noted that the detailed performance in the four core subjects will be outlined in accompanying statistical tables.

These cases involve suspected irregularities still under review.

Additionally, subject results from 185 schools have been withheld due to alleged collusion. WAEC aims to resolve these cases and release final outcomes by end of December 2025, depending on investigation results.

Disciplinary Actions Against Teachers and Facilitators

WAEC also revealed that 35 individuals, including 19 teachers, were involved in acts that compromised the integrity of the 2025 WASSCE.

  • 19 have already been prosecuted, with convictions ranging from fines to imprisonment.
  • 16 more individuals are yet to be presented before the courts.

WAEC further stated that the list of implicated teachers will be forwarded to the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) for additional disciplinary measures.

Council Expresses Gratitude

In concluding the release, WAEC expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, security agencies, school heads, supervisors, invigilators, examiners, and all partners whose efforts ensured the successful conduct of the 2025 examination.
