2025 WASSCE: Dr. Clement Apaak Warns SHS Staff Against Exam Malpractice

As the written phase of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) officially began, Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, issued a strong warning to staff of Senior High Schools (SHSs) across the country.

He called on them to uphold the integrity of the examination and refrain from any form of malpractice.

In a statement dated August 18, Dr. Apaak reminded headmasters, teachers, invigilators, and supervisors that the credibility of the examination process must be maintained at all costs. He emphasized that staff are expected to demonstrate the highest standards of honesty and professionalism.

Strict Consequences for Violations

Dr. Apaak did not mince words, warning that the Ministry of Education will take firm action against anyone caught aiding or abetting cheating.

“Anyone found guilty of aiding or abetting examination malpractice will face strict disciplinary action, including dismissal and a possible jail term,” he stated. “No one will be shielded.”

This reminder comes amid ongoing concerns from civil society and education stakeholders about the need for tougher measures to protect the integrity of the WASSCE.

The Deputy Minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for Builsa South, concluded his statement by wishing all candidates success in their exams.
