The Member of Parliament for Builsa South and Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has officially cut sod for a series of GETFund-sponsored educational infrastructure projects across the district, aimed at improving teaching and learning conditions.
Bachonsa Gets New Classroom Block
The project tour began in Bachonsa, where a sod-cutting ceremony was held for the construction of a three-unit classroom block to accommodate Junior High School students. The Chief and residents expressed gratitude to the MP and appealed for more developmental projects in the area.
Kanjaga SHS to Be Transformed into Boarding School
At Kanjaga Senior High School, Dr. Apaak announced plans to transform the day school into a fully-fledged boarding institution.
“Today, we are here to cut the sod for the construction of a boys’ dormitory, a girls’ dormitory, a dining hall, and a kitchen to kick-start turning the school into a boarding school,” he stated.
According to the MP, this marks Phase One of the project, with additional infrastructure expected in Phase Two.


New Education Directorate Office Bulsa South District
In Fumbisi, the district capital, sod was cut for the construction of a modern one-storey office complex for the District Education Directorate. The facility is expected to include multiple offices and conference rooms to enhance administrative efficiency.
The Chief of Fumbisi welcomed the initiative and assured full community support for its timely completion.
Apaak Assures Residents on Road Construction
During engagements in Fumbisi, Dr. Apaak addressed growing concerns among residents of Builsa South regarding delayed road construction.
He disclosed that he has received numerous questions from the people of Buluk about when the roads will be constructed and assured them of ongoing efforts.
“I am in constant conversation with the Minister of Roads and Highways to ensure that this road is constructed,” he said.
According to him, the contractor is ready to begin work but is currently awaiting payment from the government.
“When this road is constructed, I will be the happiest person in Buluk and can finally have a good sleep,” he added.
Dr. Apaak further assured constituents that work on the roads will commence as soon as the contractor receives the necessary payment.
Classroom Expansion in Fumbisi-Luisa
At Fumbisi-Luisa, a six-unit classroom block project was launched. The facility will include toilet amenities and office spaces. Community leaders pledged their commitment to ensuring the project is completed on schedule.
Kindergarten Facility for Zamsa
In Zamsa, sod was cut for the construction of a kindergarten school to improve access to early childhood education in the community.
Over 4,000 Furniture to Be Distributed
Dr. Apaak further revealed that over 4,000 pieces of school furniture will be distributed across the district to support effective teaching and learning.
All projects, he noted, are fully funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund, with contractors given a 12-month timeline for completion.
