GES Secures Financial Clearance for 6,249 Newly Recruited Teachers in 2024

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced that financial clearance has been granted for the payment of the remaining 6,249 teachers who were recruited in 2024. This development comes as a significant relief to the affected educators and a major step forward in strengthening the country’s educational workforce.

According to the GES, the clearance was secured through collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, ensuring that all outstanding salaries and entitlements for the newly recruited teachers will be processed without further delay.

“This clearance reaffirms our commitment to improving the welfare of teachers and ensuring that every classroom is staffed with qualified professionals,” a GES spokesperson stated.

The 6,249 teachers form part of a broader recruitment initiative aimed at addressing teacher shortages across various regions, particularly in underserved and rural communities. The financial clearance is expected to boost morale and enhance teaching and learning outcomes nationwide.

Education stakeholders have welcomed the announcement, urging the government to continue prioritizing timely remuneration and professional development for teachers.
