The Chief of Kadema, Nab Amuribadek A. Anangabe, has called on the people of Kadema to embrace unity, discipline, and shared responsibility as the foundation for sustainable development in the community.
Delivering a keynote address at a major traditional gathering on January 2, 2025, the chief described himself as not only a traditional ruler but also a servant of the people and custodian of Kadema’s future. He emphasized that development can only thrive when the community works together with a common purpose.
Nab Anangabe expressed gratitude to the Paramount Chief of Buluk, Nab Azagsuk II, for the trust placed in Kadema and its leadership, pledging that the town would not disappoint. He also commended the Member of Parliament, Municipal Chief Executive, and the Municipal Assembly for their continued support through infrastructure development, social services, and administrative backing.
Security and peace, he noted, remain central to progress. While thanking security agencies for maintaining law and order, the chief raised concerns about increasing drug abuse among the youth, particularly the misuse of Tramadol and other substances, which he said has contributed to crime, reckless riding, and fatal accidents. He called on parents, religious leaders, and the youth themselves to take a firm stand against the menace, revealing that some businesses selling such drugs had already been shut down by traditional authorities and local committees.
On infrastructure, the chief highlighted ongoing efforts to extend electricity to all communities under Kadema, describing power access as critical for education, healthcare, and economic growth. He also appealed for support to complete a community centre currently at the roofing stage and a police station still at foundation level.
Touching on healthcare, Nab Anangabe urged the Municipal Assembly to expedite the handover and operationalisation of a maternity ward at the local health centre, warning that delays pose serious risks to maternal and child health.
The chief concluded by paying tribute to the women of Kadema, describing them as the backbone of families and community progress, and encouraged all sons and daughters of the town, both home and abroad, to contribute ideas and resources toward development.
